Tourism and Cultural Festival tightens regional friendship

The second 2007 Tourism and Cultural Festival entitled “Quang Tri Trans-Asia Span of Bridge” closed in central Quang Tri province on July 28, 2007 after more than one week.

During the festival, a lot of activities were held such as folk games, art performances, a seminar on tourism development on the East-West corridor, a cuisine festival and an international fair, drawing the participation of more than 400 pavilions from domestic and foreign enterprises. These activities captured the major attention of tourism managers and experts inside and outside the country and local people.

Special art performances at Cua Viet Tourist Site left an unforgettable impression on international friends coming from China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.

Being geographically advantageous with a coastline of 75km, Quang Tri boats great potential for tourism development, including ecological and sea tourism.

The second 2007 Tourism and Cultural Festival “Quang Tri Trans-Asia Span of Bridge” offered a good opportunity for people at home and abroad to get a better understanding of Quang Tri, its land and people and to exchange cultural activities among ethnic groups living along the East-West corridor and in the sub-Mekong region in the process of integration and development.

Since the second Friendship Bridge was opened to traffic, the trans-Asia route has been shortened, making it possible for tourists to enjoy different meals in three countries of Thailand, Laos and Vietnam.
