The first private-owned airline in Viet Nam

With total 10 airplanes, VietJet will operate domestic and international ports. In the coming time, it will hire 3 another aircrafts to open business domestically since December, 2007.

According to Viet Nam Airline Department, VietJet is the 5th airline in Viet Nam. The rest are Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, Vasco and Service Flight Company (belong to the Ministry of Defense).

Mr. Võ Huy Cường, Head of Airline Transportation in Viet Nam Airline Department stated that flexible regulations in Law on Civil Airline, which was taken into effect since early 2007 have encouraged the participation of enterprises from various economic types.

Mr. Cường also said that Vietnamese airline market has been increasingly vigorous with the tough competition, mainly in Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia which have high growth rates. Currently there are 35 foreign airlines doing business in Viet Nam.
